Therapy for Creative Professionals

Being a creative is extremely fulfilling, but it is not without its drawbacks. It can be a high stress life filled with both vulnerability and rejection. It can lack stability of all kinds, but also have long hours that are hard on the body. Amongst all that is an attitude of “deal with it.” An attitude that is not welcome with me in the therapy room! Here we acknowledge the difficulties, process the hardships, and find ways to move through it. Here we acknowledge the questions of “Am I good enough?” and “Should I be doing this?” without fear of not being “tough” enough.

Specializing as a therapist for artists, entertainers, and creatives means that I am particularly attuned to the concerns and needs of this group. I work with all types including (but not limited to): actors, musicians, performers, visual artists, entertainers, writers, singers, designers, comedians, dancers, producers, photographers, creators, editors, and directors of all kinds. I welcome all types of artists and creatives, people of all ages, backgrounds, and at any point in their career. Some of the specific concerns that may come up are ones of creative blocks, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, stage fright, industry stressors, perfectionism, body image, relationship issues, and career transitions.  My passion for working with this group comes from my own experience in the arts. An understanding that deepens the therapeutic relationship and experience.

I understand that being an artist is not just a career, it is who you are.

“I understand, because I have been through it too.”
